Pirate To Launch New DJ Tool, CAPTURE.AUDIO For Recording Mixes

The launch comes with a new Capture Mix Series celebrating the diversity of sounds coming from Pirate’s global network of 24-hour DJ studios

Pirate have developed and launched their own technology for recording DJ sets directly from their studio mixers to the cloud with just a mobile phone — no cables, without using phone storage or bandwidth. The new feature is called CAPTURE.AUDIO.

Pirate hopes that this new tool will make recording more accessible to beginner DJs as a method for learning as well as being useful for radio DJs.

How does it work?
The mixers REC OUT is wired to a CAPTURE.AUDIO device. Your phone connects to the computer over wifi and functions as a remote to start and stop recordings. Your mixes are recorded onto the onboard SSD and then sent to your Pirate account after your session and made available for download.

It makes the process of recording effortless which is especially great for DJs that are getting started. I love the fact that you click a link and then hit record. You really couldn't make the process any easier!

Testing the tool at Pirate Bristol, Dr Dubplate praised its ease.

Pirate have also launched a mix series, recorded entirely using the tool. Today, London-based DJ Amaliah delivers the first set from Pirate Dalston, with sounds from Kiara Scuro, Vanessa Maria, Lewis Lowe, Kincaid and more incoming. Listen to Amaliah’s Capture Mix here.

Both the tech and the mix series have been developed and launched to help promote the diversity of sounds coming from Pirate’s global network of 24-hour DJ studios.

CAPTURE.AUDIO is currently available in Bristol, London (Hackney, Tottenham, Dalston, Earlsfield, Croydon), Glasgow and Leeds with a roll-out across all of Pirate’s UK, US & Germany studios coming before the end of 2022.
