Pirate’s Residency Programme Returns for 2024

Pirate’s 2024 Residency scheme is now open to musicians and DJs in New York and LA, featuring partnerships with leading US festivals such as Shabang, Cascade Equinox, and Empire State Music & Arts Festival.

Building on the success of its inaugural year, which saw over 30 Pirate artists perform at international festivals, the Residency talent development scheme is back for 2024, ready to discover and support a new cohort of residents.
Pirate has unveiled 13 partnerships for the 2024 Residency, a blend of music festivals, iconic venues, and influential radio stations. Notable US partners include Shabang, Cascade Equinox, Empire State Music & Arts Festival, and dublab radio.
The programme is dedicated to providing year-round support to its residents, offering mentorship, studio time, live performance opportunities, and radio play.

Today, Thursday, February 29, 2024, Pirate announces the return of their Residency programme for its second year, a groundbreaking talent development initiative open to bands, solo artists, and DJs from New York, Los Angeles, the UK, Germany, and Ireland. This unique scheme aims to create significant paid performance opportunities for emerging talent at top festivals and venues, as well as features on partner radio stations.

This year, a new group of US residents will take the stage at prestigious festivals and venues, including Shabang, Cascade Equinox, and Empire State Music & Arts Festival, as well as LA nightlife hotspots such as Catch One and El Cid. UK and EU residents will also perform at a variety of festivals, including Parklife, Truck, Forbidden Forest, and El Dorado.

Resident artists will also have the chance to play guest DJ sets and secure airplay on partner radio stations, predominantly dublab in LA and Voices in London.

Applications for Pirate’s 2024 Residency opened on 29 February, closing on 17 March. Prospective live acts and producers are required to submit original music, while DJs should provide a sample mix. This year, the programme aims to further its reach and impact, offering extensive career support, including mentorship from industry leaders, studio access, promotional opportunities, and both gig and radio exposure.

The Residency programme aims to cultivate a nurturing community where artists can flourish, collaborate, and advance their careers. This initiative underscores Pirate’s commitment to nurturing future music talent both inside and outside their studios.
